If you need clarification for how the Retirement Incentive works please see the current contract Article 12.
There is a Contract language agreement that teachers need to notify the district by Feb 1, in order to allow them to plan for retirement distributions. That said, however, it is to teachers benefit if the district chooses to waive that requirement and allow additional teachers to access this incentive who did not meet this requirement.
Note, that after 30 years in district the amount calculated is reduced by half, and after 35 years, is no longer awarded.
