Thank you to all involved in negotiations. Scholarship update, all paid out. 4 @ $1974. 10% fee $611.25 deposited into MEA account. Mea looking for a group to focus on the Swanberg Scholarship.

Ideas for helping with the funding of student groups:

An application process for helping with a % for clubs such as Robotics, History Trip, Music etc.

Gift for Christmas for the classified staff.

Checking Account: Jennifer Hall reported we currently have a balance of 5,942 in our account.

Scholarship:

We voted to change how we distribute funds for the TVEA Scholarship. Instead of varying the amount of each scholarship based on certain criteria, we voted to have four scholarships of equal value. This will make it easier to disperse funds. Currently, we have enough funds to give four scholarships for $1350.

Sign for Bond: TVEA was approached about purchasing two banners to go across Highway 93 during Rendezvous Days. The sign will have our logo and say, “Eureka Pride, Our Bond, Our Future.” We will need to contact the Chamber of Commerce (Tracy McIntire) to discuss hanging the banner and any permits we may need. Rob Good from Timber Creek Graphics gave us an estimate of $170 or a little more to create a banner. He also offered to donate some of his time free of charge on the project. The estimated cost of two banners will be around $400 dollars. Jennifer Hall made a motion to set a limit of $500 for the banners and Latimer Hoke seconded the motion. It passed.

Google Forms: It was suggested to create a Google form to be sent out to all the MEA members to vote on and comment on the things they considered important in the negotiation process this year. We are looking at a two-year contract for negotiations this time.

Negotiation Team: Margie, Heather, Wade, and Latimer are on the negotiating team. On the Google Form, we will also ask if any other MEA members are interested in becoming a member of this team.

Coaches: It was discussed to look at the contract to see how coaches are paid and which extracurricular activities are being funded.

Route 96 Appreciation Dinner

Teacher Scholarship Fund: There are awards to be given out this year. We are proposing having four scholarships and dividing the money equally instead of the way we are currently dispersing the money. We will continue to discuss the scholarships and have a follow-up meeting to discuss the disbursement of funds.

Negotiations: A question was proposed if there is a need to assemble a committee to research topics of interest for negotiations. Latimer Hoke is going to on the negotiations committee for 2017-2018. If you are interested in being on the negotiations committee please contact Rob.
