April 26, 2011 MEA Minutes
Attendance: Sue Mepham, Lori Coffman, Corina Henrie, Ann Newell, Carrie Holder, Kevin Ruble, Rob Reynolds, Heather Dunn, Angela Price, Aaron Fortner, Chad Dunn, Shelly Moen
Money Update: The senior scholarship money had been incorrectly deposited into TVEA account in the past so we thought we had more money than we actually have. Thanks Corina for catching this. Now it is all right back where it is supposed to be. We currently have $2,950.42 in our TVEA account. We spent around $2,000 on district shirts.
Rob is checking into due withholding with MEA and will give us a report ASAP.
We will give $6000 in scholarships this year. Remember to vote online.

Aaron Fortner reported from Representative Assembly: It was good. Remember to stay up on current happenings. Be careful who you elect at a local level. Be aware what could happen in 2012. Teachers’ Unions may still be under attack. Charter bill could be disastrous to small rural schools.
Highway Cleanup: We need someone to organize this? Pick a date and notify staff. This could be in the fall.
Negotiations
Salary is the only thing being negotiated this year.
Who is willing to participate?
What are some options for salary increase without actually doing a % increase?
Ideas:
Give a day of salary to teachers who have one or more personal day left at the end of the year.
Switch a sick day for a personal day.
Aaron will send a invitation to people to negotiate.
