General Members’ Meeting February 4, 2015

1) Support of political candidates and bills for education:
Do members want this information? How should this information get shared? Mr. James weighs in: if you don’t have time to read all the bill he trusts the people who are lobbying for education and votes accordingly.
Some members would like to have this information so they can do be more informed.
2) Personal email/school email
All your email can be searched by the district once it is sent to your teamEureka account even if you have deleted it. Google Vault is archiving all of this correspondence forever. Everyone should have a personal email address to use for personal information. A personal email address list should be created for members.
3) Leave of Absence
Discussed a teacher’s request for sabbatical. Upon further investigation a sabbatical is not being requested. Teacher will not be returning under a certified contract, but rather a licensed employee. More details at the next meeting.
4) May 1st and 2nd MEA/MFT officer training in Missoula. We need new officers. Several officers are ready to step down. We need to fresh officers. This training in Missoula would be a great way to learn a new position for next year.
