Negotiators present: Corrina, Carrie, John, Kelley, Rob and Shelly
We looked at the proposed negotiation items as posted on the site.
We discussed the insurance plan and decided it was best not to push for any plan until we know what program is actually being offered. There was discussion of a raise not being the best idea, but rather we should push for the matrix.
In looking at the matrix, we discussed comparing steps vs, master teacher and what costs more..
John and Rob are going to look at redoing Matrix and preparing a cost proposal for negotiating with district
Shelly was going to rewrite MTA paragraph
Kelley was going to call MEA for more salary matrix schedules and look at how the top 10 biggest "B" schools compare
Corrina was looking into COLA increase
Sick Leave Bank-we discussed several things to look at here
Talked about changing personal/sick leave to just reflect personal leave and also taking out of contract that fact that now we have to apply to board for Leave w/o Pay when we would like to jsut have to apply to individual supervisor.
Had discussion about the % of salary that went to staff..were quoted figure of 85% but when we discussed with Gigstad, were given figure of 57.6% (out of general fund) This put us in the 3rd quintile compared to other schools. When we added additional funding, we dropped to 35.6% which put us in 1st %ile. Why discrepancy?
Will begin actual negotiations on the 13th of May at 7 P.M.
