Rob read question results and comments. Participation was good again at 52 our to 70.
75% of those polled support Rep fee or TVEA membership over scholarship.
All agreed that the results for using total accumulated sick days as a bargaining chip was supported.
Both increased steps and insurance benefits were supported by 60%
Addendum: We discussed how it was determined that it was 71% of local dues for the rep fee. We discussed things for contract language discussions. This included adjusting contract to reflect time for teachers in hours instead of days. We also wanted to look at the Salary matrix and show it benefits district and is more productive if we can have somesort of longeivity bonus.
There was also discussion about an email from Helena that showed their early retirement plan. It had some monetary incentives built into plan so that district was able to plan better and teachers were rewarded for early retirement. Monetary incentives included $5000 for year ahead of retirement and $7000 the year of retirement.
We also discussed roles for negotiations> Corrina and John are main talkers, Shelly and Kelley are note takers, and Rob is doing the computer stuff. Carrie will halp as spring activites lessen.
